Driving Down 30A to Seanest Village lot

A couple of weeks ago, Randy and I drove down 30A to put up the sign at my new SeaNest Village lot listing. I was reminded all over again why this stretch of road affects people the way it does.

Yes, the 30A traffic can be ridiculous. Yes, there are bikes and pedestrians everywhere. There are golf carts going 15 miles per hour down the road. But then you start noticing the rest of it.

Trees. Woods. More trees. The long bike and walking trail winding alongside the road. Old favorite restaurants that feel as though they’ve always belonged there — Goatfeathers, Basmati and so many others. Then, suddenly, one of those incredible coastal dune lakes appears through the trees. On our drive it was Western Lake first, and it was one of those little moments that makes you stop talking for a second.

Then Grayton Beach. Then Rosemary Beach, with architecture that feels almost New England coastal in places. Seaside, of course, with its iconic Modica Market. Always stopping for pedestrians on cell phones crossing to Bud & Alley’s. And finally SeaNest Village, tucked into all that greenery with the Gulf on one side and Point Washington State Forest on the other.

That is what I mean when I say woods and ocean come together here.
